A THIEF stole £20 from a pensioner in Warwick.

The 75-year-old withdrew money from a cashpoint in Deansway around 1.30pm on Friday. But as he was counting his cash on the bonnet of his car, a man came up, took one of the £20 notes and said “Don’t forget this one mate” before walking off.

The elderly man then followed the thief for a short distance.

The man is described as around 5ft 10in, of slim build with short brown hair which was gelled forwards. He was wearing grey tracksuit trousers, grey T-shirt and trainers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
