POLICE are investigating after thugs broke into a Warwick address and attacked two elderly victims.

Officers are appealing for witnesses following the aggravated burglary in Sherbourne, on Wednesday October 21.

The incident happened sometime between 6.15pm and 7.15pm at the property on Sherbourne Hill.

A man in his 70s and a woman in her 80s, both suffered head injuries after three men are alleged to have forced entry to the address and threatened them. The victims were taken to hospital for treatment but have since been released.

The trio stole a number of items including bank cards and made off towards a white BMW car parked on the A46. According to reports, a driver had to brake suddenly to avoid them as they crossed to the vehicle parked on the opposite side.

The suspects are described as one white male, one Asian male, and one black male, all wearing dark coloured clothing.

Detective Inspector Collete O’Keefe said: “This was a terrifying incident which has left two elderly people injured and understandably shaken following the incident.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have witnessed something or seen anything suspicious to please get in touch.

“We know that the suspects parked the white BMW they were travelling in on the A46 between 6pm and 7pm that evening. The occupants were parked on the opposite side of the A46 so had to cross the busy A-road causing one driver to have to brake suddenly to avoid them.

“We would really like to speak to this driver as we believe they could really help with our investigation. We would also really like to speak to anyone who may have been travelling on the A46 between these times that evening who may have dash-cam footage of the white BMW and the suspects.

“We also believe a Citroen vehicle may have been involved as it was seen in the area at around the time of the incident. If you remember seeing this type of vehicle on Sherbourne Hill then please do get in touch.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
