Police reveal more weekend covid fines in Warwickshire

Editorial Correspondent 15th Feb, 2021 Updated: 15th Feb, 2021

RESIDENTS are continuing to put themselves and others at risk, says Warwickshire Police.

The force has revealed a number of fines were handed out to people flouting lockdown rules over the weekend.

They included people attending gatherings at houses in Rugby, Shipston and Leamington, where a house party was reported in Princess Street.

A further two people were fined after booking a weekend away at a B&B in Warwick. The owner was also spoken to and given advice.

A police spokesperson said: “While the number of infections in Warwickshire continues to fall and the vaccination programme is well underway, it is still important that everyone continues to follow the measures in place to protect us from the virus at this time.

“Most people in Warwickshire continue to follow the rules and we thank them for their efforts. However, we do continue to see some people deliberately putting themselves and others at risk.”
