POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was bitten by a dog in Leamington.

The 20-year-old man was walking in the park opposite Westlea Road at around 3.30pm on Tuesday July 5 when a dog ran up and bit his hand.

A black dog – believed to be a labrador – then ran off, leaving the man with a hand injury which required hospital treatment.

The dog was not on a lead and appeared to be unaccompanied. It is not known who the owner is.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 and speak to Warwickshire Police.
