Popular meadow under care of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust

BUBBENHALL Wood and Meadow is now under the care of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.

The site is the trust’s 65th nature reserve – and will allow it to create a 205 hectare area of woodland and meadow,  joining up Ryton Wood, Wappenbury Wood and Old Nun Wood.

The use of the natural mineral resources in the area has shaped the landscape and the trust will be carrying out a history project to capture people’s memories of both the wood and the former quarry.

There will also be opportunities for people to join in with surveying wildlife, managing the site, and improving access through installing new gates, paths and a wildlife viewing hide.

Further activities planned include guided walks, and bush craft and woodland crafts.
