Prolific south Warwickshire fundraiser tots up the cash for Safeline

A PROLIFIC south Warwickshire fundraiser has been putting her best foot forward to make other people’s lives safer.

Morrisons community champion Alex Pearson, along with her canine duo of Archie and Chester, set off on their third charity walk for Safeline in March.

The charity, based in Warwick, supports those effected by sexual abuse and rape by supporting with counselling or art therapy.

Alex walked from Kenilworth to Stratford via Leamington and Warwick banking £863.93 for the charity, which will support many people affected by sexual abuse.

And this total has now been match-funded by Morrisons, making a grand total of £1,727.86, which was handed over to deputy mayor of Warwick Coun Dave Skinner,

Alex said: ” What a great day we had and it was great to have the Morrisons foundation match fund the total donated. This was my third fundraiser for Safeline and it will not be my last. The work they do for those affected by sexual abuse is key and sadly it is needed still.

“One in four women have been affected by sexual violence and one in six men, as well as one in ten children, which is approximately three in every classroom.”
