A VISIT to the sales office of Bellway’s Heathcote Park development in Warwick has led to a donation for a Leamington charity.

Sandra Cox, who is company secretary and a founding member of Deafinitely Independent, visited Bellway’s offices at Heathcote Park as she was looking for suitable accommodation for their residents. The charity is a residential care provider for adults with deafness and other disabilities.

Sandra said: “We currently own two Victorian houses in Warwick New Road with 15 residents between them.

“The bills and upkeep of the homes is very expensive, so we’ve been looking for cost-effective properties that we can move to.”

The residents are aged between 23 and 73 and Deafinitely Independent organises a range of activities and events every day, providing 24-hour care.

After explaining the situation to sales manager Jane Yolland, the team at Bellway South Midlands were keen to help out.

Jane said: “As part of our ongoing work in the community, we are keen to support local charities in any way we can.

“Although we were unable to find a property which met Deafinitely Independent’s precise needs, we wanted to support them and help them in their search and were able to provide a £600 donation.”

“The money will go towards our search for new premises and then any work that we will need to do to the property to adapt it to our needs.
