OVER 400,000 jigsaw pieces have been assembled to raise money for the national charity Action for Children.

Thanks to members of Dale Street Methodist Church, more than 600 completed puzzles will be on display at an exhibition from 9.30am to 4pm on Saturday (November 13).

The jigsaws – which are available to buy – range from landscapes and cartoons to old masters and contemporary images.

There are simple puzzles for children and 3,000-piece challenges.

Money raised will help disadvantaged children, across the UK, through fostering or adoption.

Organiser Nigel Hailey said: “It will be a great display of puzzles and we hope to raise a substantial sum of money for Action for Children.

It is fantastic to see our community coming together to support those less fortunate than themselves.”

Entry costs £2 and will include a voucher off the purchase of a puzzle.

Teas, coffees and cakes will also be available.

* Craft Fairs will also be taking place at the church on Saturday November 20 and Saturday December 4.

They will feature work by painters, illustrators, textiles makers, jewellers, mixed media artists and more.

Entry is free and the fairs are open from 10am to 4pm.
