ANXIOUS shoppers can benefit from a quieter shopping experience in Leamington.
Morrisons is set to introduce a quieter hour for customers – including those who are autistic – who might struggle with music and the other noise.
The ‘Quieter Hour’ – created with support from the National Autistic Society – will take place on Saturdays in the Old Warwick Road store from 9am to 10am.
The session will include dimmer lighting, no music and reduced electrical noises.
Society spokesman Daniel Cadey said: “Around 700,000 people are on the autism spectrum in the UK. This means they see, hear and feel the world differently to other people, often in a more intense way. Morrisons ‘Quieter Hour’ is a step in the right direction for autistic people who find supermarket shopping a real struggle.”
