STUDENTS were well-versed at Warwick School this week.

Marking the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare death, New York rapper Devon Glover, aka The Sonnet Man, dropped in

to treat staff and students to an eclectic mix of Brooklyn and the Bard.

The visit ended with a rap battle before the Sonnet Man did a writing workshop with students.

Head of English Kimberley Wyatt said: “We were delighted to welcome Devon who demonstrated the links between Shakespeare and hip-hop by rapping the sonnets.

“We’re privileged that he chose Warwick School as part of his tour of ‘Shakespeare Country’ before returning to the US.”
