Record turn-out for Warwickshire Pride festival

Laura Kearns 20th Aug, 2018   0

THE RAINBOW flag was flying as Warwickshire saw its largest pride festival ever.

More than 5,000 visitors attended the annual festival in Leamington’s Pump Room Gardens to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) life and culture.

Music was provided by The Cheeky Girls, local performers Shanade, Taylor-Louise and Leamington drag queen Sassi Afrika.

Chair of Warwickshire Pride Daniel Browne said: “Warwickshire Pride 2018 will definitely go down as the biggest and best so far. It was a fantastic day and great to see so many people there raising their rainbows with Pride.

“I’d like to thank everyone who attended and made the festival so much fun. I must also pay tribute to the team of volunteers who worked incredibly hard to ensure everything ran smoothly on the day.”

The festival is set to return next year. Visit www.warwickshirepride.co.uk for more information.
