RESCUERS have highlighted the importance of its work to Warwick Rotarians.
The Warwickshire Search and Rescue charity is made up of some 30 professionally trained volunteers to assist the police when people go missing.
It is one of 36 search and rescue teams which are called on when a large area needs to be searched.
And in Warwickshire – where around 700 people go missing a year – WARKSAR has been called out 18 times in three months.
Three of the team dropped in for lunch with the Warwick Rotary Club which praised its work and gave a donation.
The volunteer team which needs some £10,000 a year to operate receives no funding.
