Residents urged to give a gift to a Ukrainian child this Christmas

THE WAR in Ukraine continues to rage – and the country’s children continue to suffer.

Thousands of children have lost their parents, brothers and sisters. Complete families have been destroyed leaving many children without homes and living in poverty.

Many of the children are still being cared for by the sisters of Saint Joseph in central Ukraine, which has been supported by The Polish Centre in Leamington.

And the Polish Centre, in collaboration with LKQ Euro Car Parts, is once again hoping to bring a little light into the lives of the children this Christmas.

It is again running its Become Santa appeal to buy presents for the orphaned children and again needs the help of residents in Warwick and Stratford districts. Last year’s campaign was a great success, with over 1,000 presents delivered.

People are invited to visit Belveder.co.uk and personally select children they wish to purchase presents for to make it a personalized experience, including writing a note.

They can then deliver their gift, by the December 11 deadline, to either the Aid for Ukraine shop in Leamington’s Royal Priors or Stratford On Avon Fishing and Outdoors at 29 Timothy’s Bridge Road in Stratford.
