Retired army veterans to jump in the saddle in memory of those who fought in Second World War

RETIRED army veterans living at a Royal British Legion care home are saddling up in honour of those who fought in the Second World War.

Residents, veterans and staff at Galanos House in Southam will take on the equivalent of a 205 mile bike ride on Friday (June 7). The home is setting up an exercise bike where supporters can also jump in the saddle.

The distance is the equivalent to riding from Southam to the D-Day Museum in Arromanches, France.

The ride is being held to remember those who fought and died in the war, and to raise funds to pay for trips and entertainment for residents.
