Rotarians receive a 'thank-loo' for new toilet

ROTARIANS in Warwick received a personal thank you for a £6,500 donation to a West African school.

The Rotary Club of Warwick welcomed John Sandi from the Sewa Road school in Bo, Sierra Leone, accompanied by Richard Hall from One World Link, the Warwick district organisation which has enjoyed a four decades long friendship link with the African city.

John wanted to thank the Rotarians whose donation helped improve the toilets at the school which previously had 900 pupils and 35 staff sharing just three cubicles.

Warwick Rotary Club funded the construction of two blocks of four toilets, and refurbishment of the existing three.

Former Leamington teacher Jenny Bailey has visited Bo on three occasions. Her husband Rotarian Alan Bailey has encouraged the club over the years to fund a variety of proposals in Bo, helping to build a hospital, providing solar power, and aid during ebola.

Another Rotarian Bill Jaspal had also arranged to send over seven surplus computers from his training business which were installed in the One World office in Bo last September.
