Safety fears voiced over scaffolding at council flats in Warwick

SCAFFOLDING contractors have left an invite for youngsters to injury themselves in Warwick, claims an Observer reader.

The correspondent, who did not want to be named, was horrified when he saw the scaffolding erected on council owned flats in Bridge Street.

They said: “If this was a private property buildings regs would be all over you let alone health and safety.

“You can see from the photos there is easy access to the scaffold and the upper level has no anti-fall system in place.

“It is unbelievable in these times of where there is blame there is a claim.”

The reader contacted the council who told him they would speak with the contactor.

They added: “Shocking that Warwick District Council can leave this being so dangerous and only saying I will pass it on to the contractor.”
