A KIND-HEARTED hero who tasked himself with 56 charitable deeds has completed the Two Castles Run – dressed as a giant ketchup bottle.

Steve Atherton’s year of compassion began when he turned 56 last month.

After being shocked at the number of homeless people he passed, the dad of two decided to take on 56 challenges in his 56th year in a bid to raise money for local homeless charity Helping Hands.

And following the gruelling 10k run between Warwick and Kenilworth, the Warwick man still has some way to go.

From performing ten pull-ups and dressing up as a knight, to abseiling and and completing 56 runs each with 56 different people – Steve has collectively set himself around 280 challenges.

So far he has taken on a run around the Swedish city Gothenburg and made a guest appearance on a Warwick market stall.
