A TEENAGER was sexually assaulted in broad daylight as she waited for a bus in the centre of Leamington.

The 16-year-old was approached by a man – thought to be between 60 and 70-years-old – who sat next to her at the bus stop outside the ‘Savers’ shop on the town’s Parade. He whispered in her ear before touching her inappropriately.

After the assault, the victim stood up and got on the number 67 bus. The man ran to get on the number 68 bus but then came back and boarded the same bus as the girl. He left the bus on Campion Hill and walked down Leicester Street.

Multiple people were at the bus stop and are believed to have witnessed the assault at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, August 20.

The suspect is around 5ft 9in tall, is bald on top of his head with short brown hair at the sides. He was wearing clear glasses and a cream or beige suit.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
