Ian Hughes 17th Mar, 2020

THE SHAKESPEARE family homes in and around Stratford have closed.

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT) has become the latest organisation to follow government advice in a bid to cut social contact between people to a minimum.

A spokesperson said: “Shakespeare’s family homes and the Shakespeare Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon are closed to visitors until further notice in accordance with measures taken by the UK Government to reduce the risk of infection with coronavirus COVID-19.”

The homes closed include Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, New Place, Hall’s Croft and Mary Arden’s Farm.
