Shop staff believed to have been threatened with hammer and knife in armed robbery

SHOP staff are believed to have been threatened with a hammer and knife during an armed robbery in Warwick.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the attack at Tesco Express on Chase Meadow Square at 10.30pm on Tuesday (November 10).

Two suspects are understood to have entered the store and used weapons – believed to be a hammer and a knife – to threaten staff.

Cash, alcohol and cigarettes were taken.




The staff members were uninjured but left shaken by the incident.

Police have arrested a 37-year-old man from Warwick on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody.


Officers are appealing for anyone with information or who saw the incident or anyone acting suspiciously to contact them on 101 or ring 0800 555 111 to speak to Crimestoppers anonymously.
