Six-year-old takes on running challenge to support local healthcare workers

A YOUNGSTER has clocked up over 50 miles during the third lockdown by running one mile a day to raise money for frontline medical workers.

Six-year-old Paige Holdsworth wanted to support doctors and nurses at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT), during the pandemic.

She started going on daily runs with her parents and even her little sister from mid-January and has so far raised over £1,600 – smashing her £100 target.

Paige visited the SWFT Charity Fundraising Hub at Warwick Hospital this week, where she received a certificate for her commitment

A charity spokeswoman said: “We are all so grateful to Paige for her inspiring fundraising. She has raised an amazing amount of money that will make a positive difference to the experiences of our patients and staff. We are sure her family are incredibly proud of her and we couldn’t be more thankful.”
