A SLEEPLESS Warwick resident has taken to Twitter to vent frustration at an unwanted early morning alarm call from a neighbouring supermarket.
A parody Twitter account – ‘The Alarm at Warwick (Saltisford) Sainsbury’s’ – has been set up in honour of the security alarm at Sainsbury’s Saltisford store which frequently sounds as early as 5:30am and also late at night.
The pinned tweet at the top reads: “Dear@sainsbury, I would like to return the bedside alarm clock I received for Christmas from my grandma. I no longer need it as your security alarm on the side of your Warwick store wakes me up every morning instead.”
The user says he has spoken to the store manager who had promised get the issue fixed.
He recently announced he would be stepping down from the page due to tiredness and the impact on his mental health.
He also apologised to Sainsburys’ social media team because it was ‘not responsible for the alarm going off’.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “We have apologised and reassured the resident we’re looking at ways to minimise the disturbance.”
