SOME of the top hospitals in the country are right here in South Warwickshire.

For the seventh successive year South Warwickshire Foundation Trust – which runs hospitals in Warwick, Leamington, Stratford and Shipston – has been named as a ‘Top 40 Hospital’.

Trusts across the country were tested on areas including mortality rates, efficiency, patient experience and health outcomes by healthcare information provider CHKS.

Trust chief executive Glen Burley believes it is the trust’s close working relationship with community services which has led to them again winning the accolade.

He said: “We’re very pleased to be identified as a Top 40 hospital.

“It shows the result of all the hard work carried out by our staff to deliver safe, effective, compassionate care.

“I feel it is important to note that in addition to the trust’s acute hospitals, our successful integration with community services is crucial to our performance.

“This whole system approach relies on our close working relationship with local GPs and health and social care partner organisations.

“Improving the health and well-being of the local community is very much a team effort.”
