SHOEBOXES full of festive treats are set to be donated to families in need.
After hearing about gifts being donated to children across the world, a group from Southam realised there was no facility to help those closer to home.
And the community, including local schools, were more than happy to help – donating some 250 shoeboxes in a matter of weeks.
These were collected at Southam fire station and will now be distributed by foodbank volunteers.
A spokeswoman told the Observer: “We cannot thank the people of Southam and the surrounding villages enough. This is a great example of a local community pulling together to help those in need.”
