Spate of burglaries at rural properties

Laura Kearns 30th Apr, 2018   0

THOSE living in rural properties are being urged to review their security after a spate of thefts and burglaries.

A number of homes and farms in the Southam area were targeted between Friday April 20 and Monday 23.

Items stolen include a number of quad bikes and a Kawasaki motorbike along with expensive power tools such as chainsaws, hedge strimmers, leaf blowers and pressure washers.

Police officers are appealing for anyone with a quad bike or motorbike to chain it up and keep it in a locked building. Valuable tools should also be chained together and locked up.

Officers also say thieves are likely to be transporting quad bikes by putting them onto a trailer. They are urging anyone who sees a quad bike being moved and who is suspicious it could have been stolen to contact them on 101.
