Specialist benefits advice service to help vulnerable residents

Leamington Editorial 25th Mar, 2018   0

VULNERABLE residents will soon have access to a new specialist benefits advice service.

Citizen Advice Bureaus (CAB) across the county will provide the service funded by Warwickshire County Council from April 1.

Residents will be able receive guidance at CAB offices, together with drop-ins at community centres, hubs and libraries.

The service will also include a dedicated phone lin and online support.

Council spokesperson Coun Jeff Clarke said: “This is an important initiative which has been designed to support vulnerable members of our communities, their carers, and others facing barriers to self-representation with effective advice, support, advocacy and representation in matters relating to social security benefits, including appeals and tribunals.”
