Speed humps to be relaid after being built to wrong height

SPEED humps which were recently installed in Kenilworth will be taken down and relaid after being built to the wrong height.

During summer traffic calming work was carried out on Leyes Lane in Kenilworth.

But when Warwickshire County Council went to look at the site – between Windy Arbour and Ilam Close – they discovered the humps had been installed to the wrong height.

Contractors will this weekend (September 23 and 24) reprofile the two humps and raised tables. The work will come at no cost to the council.

Ward Coun Dave Shilton said: “We’re always willing to listen to our communities, take on board their feedback and, where possible, act, which is why I’m very pleased to see this work undertaken to correct these traffic calming measures.

“We are committed to doing all we can to ensure children are safe in Warwickshire and this work supports this.”
