Speeding drivers a common problem in Warwickshire

DRIVERS in Warwickshire are more likely to put their foot down than most.

The county has been named the ninth worst area for speeding in the UK, with more than 34,000 speeding fines issued in the last year.

A new study conducted by Moneybarn analysed the number of speeding offences in each police force area of the country, over the last 12 months, based on number of fines per population. Warwickshire scored 5.85 fines per 100,000 peple.

Top of the table was Lincolnshire (123,533 fines -16.12 per 100,000 of population), followed by Norfolk (95,168 fines – 10.41).

Neighbouring Northamptonshire was fourth in the list of shame (62,414 – 8.24) while West Mercia was one place behind Warwickshire in tenth (75,719 – 5.83).
