Staff brave three peaks challenge to help baby unit

BRAVING the three peaks challenge has led to a £3,000 donation for Warwick Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit.

Staff from Apex Recruitment, which is based in the town, took on the challenge to hike up the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales.

They also held bake-offs and dress-down days to raise even more money.

Staff were determined to help the unit as many of their children were born at the hospital.

Apex HR manager Helen Alvis said: “It’s a charity close to my heart as my little girl spent two days there last year when she was born and they were absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t think of a better local charity”.

The money will be used towards enhancements for the unit and making it more comfortable for patients and their newborn babies.
