A HELPING hand has been offered to a charity which helps vulnerable people across Warwickshire.
Leamington-based Helping Hands Community Project – which works with the homeless, victims of domestic abuse and those with drug and alcohol addictions – has been loaned a vacant building on Stoneleigh Park as a place to store and sort donations of household goods, furniture, toiletries, clothing, toys, bedding to give to people in need.
Volunteer Clare Twigger said: “Some of the stories are truly heart-breaking and we are able to play a part in supporting these people to get back on their feet.
“We are very grateful to Stoneleigh Park for giving us this space which means we’ll be able to take in more donations and help even more vulnerable local people.”
Referrals to the charity come from a number of sources including children’s centres, social services, schools, the probation service, churches, GPs and other charities and projects.
