Stratford hotel staff give back to Guide Dogs

PAWSOME staff at a Stratford hotel have been supporting Guide Dogs this Christmas.

Pooches from the charity paid a visit to The Arden Hotel to receive fuss from staff as well as a £450 donation raised from the hotel’s ‘Giving Back’ campaign.

The Guide Dog’s breeding centre is based in Bishop’s Tachbrook, which on average has bred up to 1,500 puppies a year since opening its doors in 2011.

The cash donated will go towards helping young pups on their journey to become specially-trained dogs for blind or partially-sighted individuals, with the full sum funding a Guide Dog partnership for several months or buying a range of essentials such as new leads and eye checks.

Hotel general manager Sai Nathan said: “It was lovely to welcome some of the pooches at Guide Dogs and their guides to The Arden Hotel.

“It costs Guide Dogs £63.8million a year to provide their guide dog service and they rely on donations to continue their life-changing work.

“As a hotel, we have a special relationship with Guide Dogs and have supported them since 2015, so we are delighted to dedicate our Giving Back campaign to them and we look forward to continuing our support for years to come.”

The hotel’s Giving Back campaign takes place every Christmas and helps to raise cash for local good causes in the area. This year, the hotel pledged to donate £10 for each bedroom sold on a Christmas package.

The hotel has also opened its doors as a donation drop-off point should members of the public want to donate items to the dogs.
