Student halls plans cause controversy in Leamington

Leamington Editorial 28th Mar, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

PLANS for new students halls of residence at Warwickshire College’s Leamington campus have upset neighbours.

College chiefs are seeking to build a three storey block with 98 bedrooms, together with a new car park, at the Warwick New Road centre.

But residents in nearby Copps Road and Warwick New Road argue the proposed block is too near their homes and will lead to increased noise and traffic congestion.

Despite the objections, Warwick District Council planning committee is expected to give the go-ahead when it considers the application on Tuesday.
