Super slimmers get new year off to good start

SUPER slimmers from Leamington have lost a combined nine stone in the last year.

Charlotte Ball knew she had to lose weight when she was buying size 18 clothes and weighed 16 stone at just 14 years-old.

The North Leamington School pupil joined Slimming World in a bid to shift the weight – and one year on she has lost an impressive four stone.

Charlotte, who is now 16, said: “I had struggled with my weight all my life and it was really affecting my confidence. I felt I was ugly and disgusting and that no one would ever think I was good enough.

“Before, buying clothes was really hard. Topshop was my favourite but they didn’t really have clothes for bigger sizes. Nowadays I just pick clothes off the rack and they fit.”

Charlotte – who says healthy versions of curry and sweet and sour are her favourite foods – now hopes since losing her weight she will be able to attend stage school.

She said: “I never thought in a million years that I would lose four stone but I did. Now I feel like I can do anything.”

And super slimmer Katie Mitton is enjoying a new year not watching her weight after losing nearly five stone.

The 30 year-old from Cubbington started comfort eating after losing her dad and grandparents and was shocked when she discovered she was tipping the scales at 14 stone.

After struggling with depression and confidence issues, the dance teacher turned to the dieting group to help her lose weight.

Now she has a new lease of life after dropping to an impressive 9st 6lbs.

Mum-of-four Katie told the Observer: “Grief led to depression which I self-medicated with food. I also suffered with sleep deprivation which also I used food as a way to deal with. I wasn’t able to function well at all and everyday was a struggle.

“My weight problem destroyed every part of me and made me feel awful. I had zero confidence, I would hate having to go anywhere or socialise as I was so embarrassed about the way I looked and the clothes I had to wear.

“Now all of that has changed and it is all the total opposite. Losing weight has helped massively with making my job physically easier for me and the boost in my confidence is wonderful.”
