Tea party being held in bid to tackle loneliness

A SUMMER tea party is being held in a bid to tackle loneliness.

The organisers of Warwick Christmas Lunch and founder of charity Evelyn’s Gift are planning a free event to bring those who are socially isolated together.

Those living on their own in and around Warwick are invited to a afternoon tea including music, sandwiches, scones, tea and cake.

The event will be held in The Ballroom at Warwick Court House on Sunday June 30 between 2pm and 5pm.

Organiser Terry Morris said: “While loneliness is in some ways even tougher at Christmas, it affects people all year round.

“We’ve therefore combined forces with Evelyn’s Gift to host a Summer Tea Party. We would love people to join us for this community event, to spend some time together and enjoy some food, music and maybe even a bit of a singalong.”

Tickets are limited to 80 places and must be booked in advance.
