Teen charged with rape in Leamington supermarket car park

A 17-YEAR-OLD has been charged with rape after an incident in a Leamington supermarket car park.

The alleged attack on a 15-year-old girl took place at the Morrison’s in Old Warwick Road around 1.30pm on Sunday June 15.

Acting Detective Sergeant James Coleman said: “I encourage anyone with information or sightings to come forward, and would like to reassure the public Warwickshire Police are committed to taking such allegations seriously and protecting the community from harm.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The 17 year-old from South Warwickshire – who cannot be named for legal reasons – was remanded in custody until July 22.
