Taking steps towards a lasting legacy in Leamington

Leamington Editorial 2nd May, 2021   0

IMPROVEMENTS have been made to footpaths around Leamington.

Paths in Victoria Park and along nearby Riverside Walk have been resurfaced and foliage trimmed back.

The work is part of improvements being made ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, when Victoria Park will host the Lawn and Para Bowls events.

Warwick District Council head of cultural services Rose Winship said: “These improvement plans have been carefully considered and demonstrate the immense pride we have in the open spaces of Leamington, which we’ve come to appreciate more than ever before over the past 12 months. The work to the footpaths will provide a lasting legacy after the games for the local community to enjoy.”
