Three protestors against HS2 arrested

Leamington Editorial 27th Jan, 2020 Updated: 28th Jan, 2020   0

THREE protestors against HS2 have been arrested for attempting to block the efforts of contractors.

Clearing work has been carried out on Welsh Road in Offchurch since last week which has involved cutting down hedgerows and trees, including a 400-year-old oak.

Campaigners against the high speed line have been in the area since trying to stop work.

Three people were arrested on Monday (January 27) at around 10.30am, two on suspicion of breach of the peace and one on suspicion of aggravated trespass.
