TICKET-FREE parking is to be introduced at St Peter’s car park in Leamington.
A new automatic number plate recognition system will scan vehicles when they enter the multi-storey car park on Augusta Place. When users leave they enter their registration number and pay a fee before returning to their cars.
Cash or card can be used and during the transition period rangers will be on hand to help.
Warwick District Council neighbourhood services spokesman Coun David Norris said: “Once our customers familiarise themselves with the new arrangements, we are confident all of our car park users will find the new system at St Peter’s a big improvement, with speedier entry and exit and a variety of pavement options.”
