Toddlers on bikes set to take to Leamington streets

TODDLERS are not the age group you would expect to see on a bike – but around 100 of them are set to take to the streets of Leamington.

Youngsters will take part in a cycle challenge on specialist no-pedal balance bikes, made by local company Strider Bikes.

The bikes help children between the ages of 18 months to five years take their first pedal towards learning to ride a bike.

The Strider Rider Bike Challenge will take place in the town on Friday June 9 and is being supported by town law firm Wright Hassall.

Director of Strider Bike UK, Karen Wood, said: “Very much part of what we do is about taking children out on their bikes to events, putting them on podiums and gaining that confidence which is so valuable to them in later life.

“To have a sponsorship partner with Wright Hassall is just fantastic for us because it helps us to reach more children.”

The event is free to enter for and £5 to hire a bike.

All riders will receive medals, with trophies for the winners and the opportunity to step up onto the podium after crossing the line for a photo opportunity.
