Tribute paid to former teacher hit by car

TRIBUTE has been paid to a former Leamington teacher who died after being hit by a car.

Marlene Head who taught for some 40 years in schools across the district, passed away last Thursday (September 27) after the accident thought to have happened as she crossed the road in Camberwell Terrace.

Her family said the 69-year-old touched the lives of ‘innumerable children and families’ and was remembered with admiration, respect and affection.

Throughout her career the mum-of-two taught at Kineton High, St Joseph ‘s Convent and Crackley Hall in Kenilworth.




In her brief retirement, Marlene was involved with the University of the Third Age and the Village Voices choir.

She leaves behind her husband Tom, her daughter Sarah and son Murray and her grandson Wilfred.


The police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crash thought to have happened after a silver Mercedes turned from Radford Road onto Camberwell Terrace at around 9.15am.
