Friendship Project dedication recognised

A DEDICATED volunteer who has spent two decades dedicating her free time to helping some of Warwick’s most vulnerable youngsters is calling for more people to share their life experience.

Joan Bolton has spent time each week for the past 20 years helping boost the confidence of underprivileged children.

The former teacher volunteers with Friendship Project for Children which matches an ‘older friend’ with a ‘younger friend’ – a child between the age of six and 16, referred by social services. Joan helps youngsters suffering from a range of problems with the aim of developing the child’s personality and confidence.

Her dedication was recognised with the a Meritorious Service Award from Warwick Rotary Club.




President John Taylor expressed admiration for Joan’s patient service and energy on behalf of the children of Warwick and presented her with a certificate and a cheque for £200 towards the work of the Friendship Project for Children.
