Two men taken to hospital after being left lying in the road following serious A46 single-car smash

TWO MEN have been treated for serious injuries following a road smash in the early hours of this morning.

Both men, believed to be in their 20s, were involved in an single-vehicle incident at the junction of the A46 and Crew Lane in Kenilworth at 4.05am.

Two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer and a MERIT trauma doctor were sent to the scene.

Crews arrived at the scene to find the two men lying in the road and a car, which had suffered damage all over.




A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: “A man believed to be in his 20s suffered a number of serious injuries.

“Ambulance staff assessed him and treated him for head, leg and arm injuries.


“He was immobilised and given pain relief before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

“The doctor travelled with the patient on the back of the ambulance to continue treatment en route.”

The second patient, also a man in his 20s, was in the passenger seat.

The spokesperson added: “The second patient, also a man in his 20s, was in the passenger seat.

“He was treated for a serious head injury together with back and rib injuries.

“He was also immobilised and given pain relief before being taken to the same hospital.”
