Fatal victim of Leamington nightclub assault named as Robert Bavington

A MAN who died following an assault outside a Leamington nightclub has been named as Robert Bavington.

A row is believed to have broken out between two groups in front of Moo Bar on Russell Street at approximately 1am on Sunday morning (April 10).

Around 20 minutes later, the 28-year-old from Rugby was assaulted on Russell Street.

The web designer –  who was technical director with Coventry-based Fly Full Circle –  suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance but died a few hours later.

Messages of condolence have been left at the scene but Robert’s family have asked that their privacy be respected at this time.

A 30 year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

One man has been released without charge.

Police would still like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident and has not yet come forward.
