THE STREETS of Warwick were thronged with festive folk for the ever-popular Victorian Evening.
The official countdown to Christmas got underway with the town’s light switch-on together with everything from fairground rides to ferret racing to fire jugglers.
Thousands of revellers, including plenty in their Victorian finery, also enjoyed festive yesteryear entertainment from a traditional merry-go-round to hot punch.
The Rotary Club of Warwick also launched its Lights of Love appeal with cards on the tree remembering loved ones.
There are already over 150 cards on the tree, with donations made towards Myton Hospices and the Mayors charities, and cards can be added up to December 23. Visit www.warwickrotarky.org.uk for details.
And a carol service of dedication will be held in Market Square on Sunday December 11, starting at 4pm.
