PICTURE SPECIAL: Visitors flock to meet the newborn lambs at Moreton Morrell College

THE FIRST lambs of spring were the star attraction at Moreton Morrell College at the weekend.

Thousands of visitors descended on the college’s Nethermorton Farm for its annual Lambing and Animals Weekend on Saturday (March 25) and Sunday (March 26).

And the major draw of the fun-packed event was of course the opportunity to meet the newborn lambs.

But that was not all. Visitors were also be able to ask questions and learn about lambing from Daniel Hale, who manages the 650-acre farm.

There were tours of the Animal Centre, where visitors could get up close to meerkats, raccoon dogs, porcupines, coatis and other exotic animals.

And the college’s farmer’s market, introduced last year, was back with even more stalls selling a wide range of wares from food and crafts, to soaps and candles.

All proceeds from the event will be invested back into equipment to support curriculum delivery at Moreton Morrell College.
