Volunteer Blue Badge holders needed as Council work on fresh application process

VOLUNTEER Blue Badge holders are needed to test a new service being worked on by Warwickshire County Council.

As part of a new way for people to apply for the badge, it is hoped the new online system will speed up the application process and take all the stress out of proving applicants’ identities.

The trial system will use the Gov.UK system, which allows users eligibility to be tested by checking against previously provided benefits information.

Coun Matt Western, chair of the resources and fire and rescue overview and scrutiny committee, said: “A large number of Warwickshire residents benefit from our Blue Badge disabled parking scheme.

“It is hoped the process of applying for a Blue Badge will be much easier for all our residents.

“If you are an existing Blue Badge holder I would urge you to sign up now to be among the first to trial the new system.”
