THE ROTARY Club of Warwick has welcomed a new president.
John Hibben has handed over the chains of office to incoming President David Smith.
During his year in office John raised nearly £2,500 for his nominated charities – the Stroke Association and Macmillan Cancer Support – which were each presented with £1,250.
David has been an active member of Rotary since 2006 and is an Emeritus Professor at Oxford University who is well known for his research on tsunamis.
David has chaired the International Committee and has a keen interest in the work of Rotary overseas.
David’s charities for the year will be The British Polio Fellowship and the British Red Cross.
