MOST little girls spend days dreaming of stepping into the spotlight in a ballet – but that dream came true for a Warwick schoolgirl after taking to the stage with the National Youth Ballet.
Eva Davies, a pupil at King’s High, made it through tough auditions for the second year and joined dancers in a new production – Time in Motion, a mixed programme of short ballets which take audiences on a journey through time – choreographed by Birmingham Royal Ballet first artist Ruth Brill.E
Each year a troupe of 150 dancers aged 12-plus are selected from a number of auditions to come together and in a couple of weeks rehearse and perform a ballet to packed audiences.
Celebrating the National Youth Ballet’s 30th anniversary, 14 year-old Eva recently took part in performances at The Cresent Theatre in Birmingham, and the world-famous Sadler’s Wells theatre in London.
Eva said: “Performing with the National Youth Ballet is a great experience and opportunity for the dancers.”
