Warwick Town Bonfire has record-breaking year

Leamington Editorial 7th Nov, 2016 Updated: 7th Nov, 2016   0

THE WARWICK Town Bonfire has gone with a bang.

A record-breaking crowd of around 6,000 enjoyed a blazing bonfire followed by a bold and colourful firework display set to music.

Chair of the Bonfire Committee David Shore said: “We are delighted the people of Warwick turned out for their regular show and are most grateful for their support. It was a really great night.”

The Mayor of Warwick was accompanied by show organisers, the Presidents of Rotary and Lions then escorted by the Town Crier to light the bonfire.

Organisers are hoping to exceed the £17,000 which was raised last year, with proceeds distributed to local charities and good causes.
