Warwickshire businesswomen united in a celebration of success

BUSINESSWOMEN across Warwickshire united in a celebration of success.

The Good For Woman event organised by Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s Business provided an opportunity for women to network and share inspirational stories.

Angela Joyce, principal and chief executive at Warwickshire College Group (WCG) was among those to speak.

She talked about her position at WCG which is made of of seven colleges, and the importance of education and training.

Angela, who is youngest ever chief executive in further education, said: “We have 2,500 apprentices serving 1,100 businesses. It is our job to train the future.

“We must live and demonstrate our values as leaders and look for opportunities and seize them. We also need lots of role models, and I would urge you to be role models – particularly for young women.”

Angela was joined by co-Founder of PET-Xi Training Fleur Sexton, HR Director Tracey Hudson; and Founder of Independent Freight Solutions Jenny Hooper who also spoke at the event.

Each gave an insight into how they built their businesses, the challenges they faced, what drives them and their future goals.

Host Debbie Harper from event sponsors HSBC said: ““It was an inspiring event with some excellent speakers who had very interesting stories to tell.”
